This is a very special & rather personal project that I’ve been working on throughout the Winter in an attempt to connect on a deeper level to my local landscape and to the season. The box contains eight botanically dyed silk ribbons, each of which have been dyed using local, seasonal plants & capture the essential beauty of Winter colour.

Gathering only what I need for a single dye pot, I have made new colours from ivy berries, nordmann fir needle, rosemary, walnut & birch leaves, alder cones, sedum seed heads, birch bark & red onion skin. It is true, seasonal colour & a celebration of Winter, the time of nature’s deepest rest.

Each box contains eight hand crafted and botanically dyed ribbons & an ingredients card.

There are only 15 boxes of this series available.

All ribbons 1.5m in length x 5cm in width and are made from 100% pure silk habotai ribbon.

Silk habotai has a light, airy feel and a soft sheen finish.

The ribbons are dyed by hand using pure plant based ingredients, without the use of chemicals. They are then hand torn for a soft, frayed edge. wound on a wooden spool.

Please note that each batch is very small and unique so colours may vary from batch to batch. These colours are unique due to the seasonal plant ingredients used.

There may be very slight marbling or marking along the the ribbons. This is due to the hand dyeing process and I believe, is part of their unique charm.

Every care has been taken photograph the colour as accurately as possible and in natural light, however there may be variance with screen monitors. Silk refracts the light and plant dyes contain complex pigments which are hard to capture on screen.
